Job Summary: Reporting to Payroll Manager, the Human Resource & Office Assistant will have the opportunity to gain hands-on learning and experience in HR in the fast-paced and challenging world of the restaurant/hospitality industry. This position would work primarily in our Home Office (Support Center), located in Downtown San Diego, with some opportunity to work from home when duties permit. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Conducting a variety of HR audits (I9’s, personnel files, new hire paperwork, termination paperwork), maintaining the filing of documents into electronic personnel files, data entry into ADP Workforce Now, assisting with HR related projects, and office-related projects when needed.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in the day-to-day administrative functions of HR including auditing daily new hires, change of statuses, and terminations as needed.
- Assist with the recruitment and hiring processes
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll and benefits administration.
- Processes the receiving and auditing of personnel documents as needed, including documents received via email, mail and from the restaurants on a weekly basis.
- Scans, saves, and uploads all hard copies of employment documents into electronic employee files or shared drive.
- Handles requests such as systems trouble shooting, username and password resets, and other related requests.
- Research HR, employment law, policy changes, and other related topics for continuous improvement within the Employee Experience department.
- Assists with programs to recognize and celebrate employees (The Culture Club, wellness, birthdays, and anniversaries).
- May assist other departments, including Marketing and Learning & Development with other administrative tasks.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Preferred: 1 year of recent office work experience in an environment where both interpersonal and administrative skills have been utilized.
- Must have a customer-service personality and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Word - ability to learn the HRIS quickly. We use ADP Workforce Now and TalentReef.
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and administrative skills.
- Creative a plus- someone who takes initiative preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (desired but not required)
