Burgess & Co., PLLC, is a full service certified public accounting firm establish in 1976 committed to delivering exceptional accounting and tax solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team, focusing on bookkeeping and tax return preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including managing accounts payable / receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
Prepare individual, business, and partnership tax returns accurately and efficiently.
Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting.
Utilize QuickBooks to maintain organized and accurate financial records.
Use UltraTax software to process and review tax returns (training available if needed).
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional client service.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
Qualifications
Proven experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation (minimum of 2-3 years preferred).
Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations for individuals and businesses.
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and / or Online) is highly desirable.
Experience with UltraTax software is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
CPA license is
not required
but is a bonus.
