What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Burke Center?
The Accounting Clerk position performs complex clerical and advanced bookkeeping work in accounting and fiscal records keeping, with emphasis on accounts receivable and related tasks to assist in the efficient and effective operations of Business Services. Our accounts receivable department keeps Burke running smoothly by managing cash influx and collecting payments from clients.
This role will process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner while supporting the organization in optimizing financial transactions and systems. Reconciliation of payments and client accounts will be performed.

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel and Word.
A valid Texas driver's license is required. The successful candidate must also have legible handwriting and be able to sit for long periods of time throughout the day.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent
- Two years of hands-on accounting experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or general ledger in an automated system
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word
Preferred qualifications include two years of hands-on advanced experience in Excel and an Associate's degree in Accounting.
Work Environment
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
