Description of Work:
The primary purpose of the Income Maintenance Supervisor II is the administration and supervision of the PLA Adult Medicaid Team. This position directly supervises Income Maintenance II caseworkers, one Income Maintenance III Lead worker and one clerical support. This position monitors continued compliance with program specifications. This position assigns and coordinates the workflow both within the unit and other units within the department.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Must possess considerable knowledge of the policies and procedures of the programs and Department. Must be able to instruct, direct, and supervise Income Maintenance staff performing eligibility duties. Must maintain a satisfactory working relationship with applicants/recipients, and others contacted within the course of work. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with applicants and community agencies to obtain pertinent data and to interpret rules and regulations. Must be able to represent the Adult Medicaid Team in department meetings and present information orally and in written form. Must be proficient in computer usage, have ability to meet the public in a mature, professional manner and deal with a variety of clientele, including but not limited to clients who are irate or in difficult situations. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to supervise, review casework and train staff.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
Three (3 ) years of experience as a Caseworker or Investigator in an Income Maintenance Program, prefer with one (1 ) year of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
