Burlington School District is seeking a passionate and energetic Database Manager to support our BHS Administrative team. This position is responsible for maintaining student data and data infrastructure. The Data Manager ensures that student and staff data is accurate and up to date, provides an essential role in data processes, and configures software to allow for the above. The Data Manager produces timely reports for district and school administration and other users, and provides support for district and school staff members using data systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Checks and validates BHS student data in a proactive and ongoing manner to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Provide a trusted role in a variety of data-related procedures.
- Validate and apply BHS data updates from various school sources (PowerSchool, Schoology, etc.)
- Adapt software configuration to changing school situations and policies.
- Master Schedule Adaptive work - working with counselors to create, execute, and monitor yearly updates to the master course schedule.
- Produce reports for administration, teachers, etc.
- Generate, print, and mail BHS school report cards standardized test scores and other routine informational documents.
- Assist users in all roles with basic system use.
- Troubleshoot problems with data systems.
- Advise BHS administration on technical capabilities relevant to proposed procedures.
- Take a prominent role in yearly course scheduling.
- Work with Data Systems Team to identify ways the Student Information Software system can be used most effectively and efficiently
- Participates productively in team meetings and professional committees.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with team members.
- Complies with Board and administrative policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Uses discretion in discussing school affairs, recognizing the value of positive school-community relations.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Stay up to date on current tools and software systems used by the district, including learning about new software products, systems, and tools in a changing landscape.
- Prepares/Completes appropriate BHS reports/paperwork.
- Attendance in accordance with established days/hours of work.
- Perform other tasks and duties as appropriate and/or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Job Requirements:

Education:
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience:
Minimum Required:
- Must have at least two years of training and/or experience with computer operations, including data entry and database use, navigation and management.
Preferred Attributes:
- Must be familiar with the Windows computer environment.
- Proficiency spreadsheets (e.g. MS Excel, Google Sheets)
- Experience with data management software, OR demonstrated technical aptitude
- Experience in a school district environment using Powerschool Student Information System and completing state reporting is preferred.
- Experience with SQL or another computer programming language is preferred.

EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS/TERMS:
- SALARY: As per the OP Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the . This is a salaried position paid Bi-Weekly with a lump sum payment for the summer period.
- CALENDAR YEAR: 12 months, 261 workdays (based on start date), upto 8 per day/40 per week
- BENEFITS: Benefits eligible on start date. 30 days to enroll in coverage from start day. BSD Benefits!
- PAID TIME: Sick Time / Personal Time As per the OP Master Agreement.
