Internship Summary:
The Burlington Sock Puppets (2022 Appalachian League Organization of Year) are an energetic entertainment organization that are not only members of the summer-collegiate Appalachian League (powered by MLB), but a marquee staple in the Burlington (NC) and Alamance market. This internship is designed to provide an individual with a hands-on opportunity to learn and refine the skills necessary to be an exceptional play-by-play broadcaster and well rounded media professional.
Internship Goals:
- Strengthen personal play-by-play broadcasting ability.
- Create a unique broadcast experience for listeners/viewers.
- Publish written and visual content aimed at increasing fan engagement and brand marketing.
- Gain exposure to social media management with a focus on consistent activity and interaction.
Internship Requirements:
- Full-Time summer internship from Mid-May to the beginning of August.
- Must be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in sports broadcasting, journalism or other communications major.
- Must work all events and game days put on by the Burlington Sock Puppets and Burlington Baseball, Inc.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Must have previous play-by-play/broadcast experience.
