Job Overview
The Case Aid Paraprofessional will complete tasks in the areas of; customer service and office management, correspondence, training, and recruitment and recognition events to support home finders.
Essential Duties:
- Can support the mission and vision of Burlington United Methodist Family Services as evidenced by compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Supports and facilitates positive interaction with others as evidenced by professional maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
- Exhibits effective communication skills including proper use of agency communication systems.
- Supports all functions that attain and maintain accreditation with regulatory agencies.
- Participates in appropriate professional development programs and in services to attain and maintain competency.
- Responsible for answering phones, providing program information, and conducting initial interviews of prospective families.
- Responsible for assisting potential and current providers with form completion and assisting with ASO registration.
- Complete routine correspondence pertaining to training, references, medical records, and support group meetings.
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining provider files and documentation relevant to the specific home.
- Responsible for entering information in WV PATH on a daily basis as needed.
- Schedule PRIDE training with providers that will include childcare during training and support group sessions.
- Schedule fingerprinting during session one of PRIDE or at local area office when it cannot be completed during PRIDE training.
- Assemble and deliver training materials for in-service foster parent training as needed by the home finder.
- Assist home finding staff with assembling promotional materials for recruitment activities such as fairs, home shows and conferences.
- Assist home finding staff with special programs and recognition activities for foster parents.
- Responsible for adhering to all home finder timelines as indicated by DHHR and BUMFS.
- Performs other duties that fall within the parameters of this position.
- Required driving position
- This position is defined as one that will require you to drive a motor vehicle as part of your daily work. This position does allow the employee to drive motor vehicles owned or leased by Burlington United Methodist Services, Inc., and to transport employees and residents when and if necessary.

Education level:
- Possess at least a high school diploma or GED
- Two years college preferred
Experience:
- Business/secretarial experience preferred
Core competencies
Required:
- Have special training in secretarial skills.
- Have knowledge of office machines and their uses, including office computers and related software.
- Have ability to organize data, schedules, and filing systems and generate reports.
- Have ability to report and record information and facts accurately and maintain the confidentiality of this information.
- Be able to communicate and work effectively in a professional manner with other staff, clients, and the general public.
- Be willing to continue learning through attendance in course study and in-service training and workshops.
Preferred:
- Two years college preferred
- Business/secretarial experience preferred
