What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator/Material Handler position at Burmeister Woodwork?
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC to mill, drill wood parts.
- Check and measure dimensions of completed part to ensure the part conforms to Engineering and Quality Assurance specifications.
- Moving materials within the warehouse or facility to designated locations & performing tasks like labeling, sorting, packing, and unpacking materials as needed.
- Operate forklifts to move pallets and other materials.
- Perform required machine maintenance per maintenance work instructions
Qualifications
- Experience with setting up and operating CNC equipment
- Must know how to read and interpret blueprints
- Must know how to utilize precision measuring tools and instruments
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly with forklift operation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
- Knowledge of wood species identification is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, move, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and up to 150 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to twist, turn, crouch, stoop, and squat repeatedly throughout the workday
Work Hours
Full-time, hourly position; standard business hours of 6:30am until 3:30pm Monday β Friday. Overtime available on an as needed basis.
