WE ARE GROWING!! Burnetti, P.A. has been serving the injured people of Florida for over 30 years and is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in our Lakeland office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law and litigation, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
**The firm will not consider applicants that are tobacco users.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pay Range: Based on experience
Essential Job Functions:
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide case updates.
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
- Coordinate and track medical treatment appointments, insurance claim submissions, and third-party communications to ensure timely case progression.
- Develop and maintain case timelines, ensuring critical deadlines for discovery, motions, and hearings are met.
- Support attorneys with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and drafting pre-trial documents, including subpoenas and witness instructions.
- Manage and track client costs, including medical bills and expert fees, ensuring proper accounting and reporting for settlement or trial preparation.
- Maintaining client electronic file.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- A minimum of 2 years as a litigation paralegal (experience with Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice)
- Ability to proficiently prioritize a heavy workload and meet deadlines
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understand legal terminology and procedures
- Critical thinking skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
- Experience with Neos/Needles Case Management software is a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not necessary
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma and/or GED Required
- Completion of an Accredited Paralegal program and/or certificate preferred
- Associate's Degree or comparable work experience
