REPORTS TO: Food and Beverage Supervisor, Food and Beverage Manager and Clubhouse Manager
COMPENSATION: Hourly (Non Exempt Status)

This position requires working week-ends and holidays during peak season (May through September)
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
The position is responsible for assisting with the complete service of food and beverages in our various a la carte outlets (indoors and outdoors; i.e. The Grille Room, Founders Bar, Patio and Salon A), catering to all members and guests needs according to established rules and etiquette. To do this, the assistants help: clean tables, do side work, stock stations, etc. Server assistants work closely with servers and runners in order to provide members and guests with an enjoyable dining experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set up dining room tables according to the club standards and communicates with the Food and Beverage Management Team, in regard to sizes and tables according to reservations.
- Completes side job duties including but not limited to re-stocking side station with silverware, glassware, linen, etc.
- Polishing of glassware, china, and flatware.
- Filling salt, pepper, sugar, and condiment containers.
- Ability to operate all job-related equipment to include but not limited to coffee machine, espresso machine, etc.
- Completes requisitions and obtains supply from storeroom with the approval of manager.
- Removes extra place settings and takes it back to the station.
- Water service to the tables and monitoring water levels and re-pouring when the glass is less than half or water bottle needs replaced.
- Assist servers with proper clearing of courses and special instructions.
- Ability to assist server with getting drink orders for the tables only when necessary.
- Communicate and inform the server of table needs or requests during service.
- Organize bussed dishes on service trays, separating china, silverware and glassware not allowing the service tray to become overloaded when applicable.
- Sort all silverware, glassware and china by type at the dishwashing area, and in the appropriate racks and bins to avoid breakage.
- Continuously monitor every table and help with clearing, resetting and assist servers with coffee service, iced tea or water as needed.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize tables and chairs before service and when re-setting for another reservation.
- Clean outside stands removing water, coffee, tea, etc. at closing shift.
- Fold napkins and reset the tables for service when applicable.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- Be courteous, maintain a professional attitude and act professionally throughout service no matter how busy you are.
- Assist the host and management with meeting, greeting and seating of guests when this is required.
- Always take something back to the kitchen and never go empty handed.
- Clear dishes and glassware from the right side of the guests using the right hand and those on the left side of the guests using your left hand not reaching in front of the guest.
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education and Experience:
- High School degree or equivalent; or three to six months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fraction, and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving standard situations.
Language and Communication Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Strong verbal and written skills to manage all business communications using proper etiquette.

Physical, sensory and motor demands:
While performing the duties of this position, Employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel,crouch, and tasteand smell. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 10 Lbs and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this job include close and distance vision.
