Job Summary :
The Procurement Manager will manage the day-to-day procurement requirements for raw materials, finished goods, and operational supplies, ensuring alignment with Burpee’s mission and values. The Purchasing Manager will also be responsible for sourcing and purchasing live goods, ensuring seasonal availability and quality standards are met to support product offerings. This role involves overseeing vendor evaluations and managing the RFQ process to secure optimal quality and cost efficiency. This position will collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, operations, planning, production, design, sales and marketing teams to ensure timely material delivery and drive innovative display concepts. Additionally, the Procurement Manager will identify and pursue new sourcing opportunities to enhance brand positioning and market competitiveness.
Role and Responsibilities :
- Manage purchasing for live goods, seeds, raw materials, finished goods, and supplies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee vendor evaluations, RFQ processes, and quality inspections for cost-effective, high-quality procurement.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and long-term partnerships.
- Assess market trends, identify supply chain risks, and resolve complex vendor issues.
- Collaborate with Finance on annual budgets and conduct cost analyses to optimize spending.
- Partner with planning, production, design, and marketing teams to ensure timely delivery, impactful displays, and brand-aligned sourcing.
- Enhance inventory processes, forecast purchasing needs, and manage open purchase orders for efficiency.
