- This position aims to design and perform the layout of a complex scope and may serve as the Design Area Lead.
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to complex problems by organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
- Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity.
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
- Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of advanced complexity within and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
- Supervise development and checking of complex drawings, including instrument index, instrument location plans, isometrics, and sketches.
- Develop estimates and schedules, progress reports, and workforce forecasts.
- Provide guidance/assistance to project managers, designers, and Drafters.
- Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
- Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
Basic Job Requirements
- A combination of education and directly related experience equal to fifteen (15) years
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation)
- Practical field experience
- Intermediate computer and software skills include word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs.
