We are seeking a Division Manager for the Victorville Hauling Division.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall performance and productivity of the division. This includes onboarding, developing, coaching, and mentoring team members, determining duty allocations, and fostering a team-oriented work environment based on servant leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Foster a teamwork-based work environment through open communication
* Organize the division and determine duty allocations for operations, shop, and customer service management team members and department heads
* Review and evaluate division performance, establishing proper performance measures
* Counsel managers and supervisors on program execution, providing direction for work plan modifications or contingency planning
* Ensure routes are completed efficiently and safely
* Maintain team compliance with safety standards
* Oversee personnel needs, including selecting, coaching, and training employees, evaluating employee performance, and contributing to termination, compensation, and promotion decisions
* Be accountable for overall service, productivity, and safety of the division, as well as lawful operating conditions of company vehicles
* Monitor and control administrative costs, overseeing all functional areas
* Maintain appropriate staffing levels, ensuring adequate hiring and training of personnel
Qualifications:
* Minimum 7 years of experience in a highest-level management position involving transportation, operations, customer service, and safety
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management
* Previous experience in transportation, waste industry, or recycling environment preferred
* Bilingual Spanish skills a plus
* Valid California Driver's License required

* Establish strong working relationships with people inside and outside the division
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
* Demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to coach and develop subordinates

* Ability to interface effectively with the general public, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
* Personal energy and style to set an organizational tone of integrity, competence, inspiration, and optimism
* Ability to plan, budget, schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
* Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods up to 8 hours or more per day
* Manual dexterity and vision sufficient to operate a personal computer for extended periods without abnormal hand, wrist, or eye strain
* Hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person and on the telephone
