We are currently seeking the following positions for our Agua Mansa/Riverside Division.
Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Supervisor (Production)- 1st Shift
Coordinates and directs the activities of equipment operators, scale house operators, and all temporary staff. Ensures that the workforce is adequately staffed and trained. Will exercise independent judgment when determining workflow, staffing and monitoring safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Facilitates efforts of subordinates and provides direction by assigning tasks and ensuring that employees commence their shifts in a timely manner
- Assesses daily manpower and distributes work accordingly
- Supervises the day-to-day activities of the materials processing and recycling facility, which includes sorting, baling, equipment operations, and system/departmental cleanup
- Processes employee requests, including vacation, PTO’s etc. and assists with the scheduling of time off
- Trains new employees on general safety policies and proper use of assigned equipment
- Will administer corporate policies and ensure safety compliance
- Coaches and develops employees by continuously communicating with team members and providing guidance for improvement and recognition of efforts
- Handles and resolves employee relations issues and incorporates consistent and timely disciplinary standards, preparation, and documentation of corrective action notices
- Follows and administers company safety programs by conducting monthly safety meetings, facility inspections and ensuring compliance to all OSHA regulations
- Investigates and completes reports for work related injuries and or vehicle accidents/incidents and submits paperwork to appropriate insurance carriers in a prompt manner
- Trains and onboards new employees on general safety policies, and proper use of assigned equipment
- Responsible for submitting incident alert emails on same day of occurrence
- Responsible for answering action item related emails in prompt manner
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and organizational skills and ability to maintain and promote a team work environment
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to coach and develop subordinates
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are required, and ability to effectively interface with general public
- Ability to distinguish trends and recognize problems and implement plan of action
- Basic mechanical and P.C. Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and possess bi-lingual skills in Spanish
- Be available to work weekends
- Previous experience in a recycling environment is preferred
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Valid California’s Driver and clean driving record, required
- 3 years of supervisory experience and ability to motivate people, required
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other related federal, state, and local regulations
- Proven customer service skills
PHYSICAL:
- This position requires that the individual drive, walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift, climb, or move heavy objects
- There is continuous eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion, hearing, and smelling
- Must have ability to operate forklift, baler, wheel loader, bobcat and sort lines equipment and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind)
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes
- Routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
