A 911 dispatcher is responsible for receiving and dispatching emergency & non-emergency law enforcement, fire and rescue calls and some clerical tasks. Applicants must have excellent verbal communication skills, the ability to remain calm under stress, as well as manage several tasks at once including the operation of computers and radio equipment. This is a full time position that includes working nights, weekends and some holidays. Previous emergency communications experience and NLETS certification preferred but not required. Applicants must be 19 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED and have good moral character with no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions.
