What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Bus Climate Control?
- Provide overall maintenance support for Bus Climate Control.
- Ensure the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery.
- Organize and implement a daily maintenance and repair schedule.
- Perform regular property inspections of common areas, building exteriors, and landscape.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures and grounds on the property.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Ensure 24/7 availability of emergency services.
- Clean light fixtures and change light bulbs/tubes.
- Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds etc.
- Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, cooling towers, etc.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders and maintenance requisitions.
- Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, as required.
- Maintain organized and clean work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
- Obtain quotes for work performed by outside contractors; schedule and coordinate outside contractor activities; maintain outside contractor hot work log and permits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Competence requirements
- High school diploma.
- Working experience in maintenance.
- Trade certificate, valid driver’s license.
- Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize, plan and schedule work effectively with a production team in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine breakdown issues and/or to order necessary parts.
- Ability to install, trouble shoot, repair and maintain industrial equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to perform small repairs (e.g. caulking, replacing washers, and replacing light fixtures).
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge the Occupational Health and Safety.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to lift, weigh and measure items.
- Working knowledge of safe packing methods.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
