What You’ll Do:
As the On-site Transportation Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth performance and customer satisfaction. You’ll wear many hats, from planning and driver management to customer relations and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Driver Management: Foster high-performing teams through daily interaction, coaching, and positive reinforcement to maintain strong driver relationships.
- Retention Focus: Ensure drivers meet mileage expectations, handle payroll accurately, and address any issues to keep driver satisfaction high.
- Load Management: Match drivers with loads, manage schedules, and communicate special instructions to meet service commitments efficiently.
- Safety Leadership: Drive a culture of safety with ongoing training, compliance audits, and proactive incident management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance with DOT Hours of Service, FMCSA regulations, truck inspections, and more to ensure seamless operations.
- Customer Collaboration: Become the go-to contact for our customers, providing responsive communication, regular updates, and daily reports.
- Fleet & Equipment Oversight: Manage equipment scheduling, inspection, and cleanliness to maintain a high standard for all assets.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek a proactive, organized, and independent professional who brings:
- Experience: 2 years in customer service, planning, or driver management; Class A CDL is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in transportation.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and management.
- Problem-solving Mindset: Ability to think on your feet, resolve challenges quickly, and work well under pressure.
