Business Insider is hiring a VP of Live Events to lead the launch and management of a new live journalism events business. This role will sit on the Global Marketing Team.

The Role & Team:
As a VP of Live Events you will operate as the "founder" of this new business line and will be responsible for launching live journalism events for Business Insider. You will create in-person experiences that inspire individuals across industries to innovate, create, and improve themselves and the world around them.
This is a newly established leadership position that will manage all elements of Live Events, working cross functionally with multiple departments, including sales, marketing, and the newsroom, while also managing a high performing team.
The VP of Live Events reports directly to the SVP, Global B2B Marketing and Creative Studios and will sit on the Events team. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strategy for Business Insider's live events business, in partnership with the newsroom, marketing and advertising stakeholders that drives revenue, supports the goals of the newsroom, and engages our audience.
- Oversee production, audience development, and programming for brand, newsroom, and sponsored events.
- Set revenue goals, define team roles, and ensure execution across cross-functional teams.
- Work with marketing to create event materials and sell sponsorship packages, meeting revenue targets.
- Collaborate with operations to price and package events while maintaining margins.
- Lead pre-sales efforts, responding to RFPs and delivering engaging live events and ensure excellent client service and renewal processes post-sale.
- Manage and report out events P&L, balancing revenue, costs, and profitability.
- Proven experience managing and producing events, managing P&Ls and teams
- Exceptionally strong communication skills, able to communicate with executive stakeholders (C-level) in a sharp, efficient, and compelling manner
- Success owning and delivering against a revenue target selling events
- Detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
- Success pricing and packaging events and demonstrated partnership working with sales to sell into clients
- A creative eye and a finger on the pulse of the industry and a hunger to bring that vision to life for Business Insider
- Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term need; comfortable working with fluid timelines, budgets, and availabilities
- Passionate, relentless, and entrepreneurial; thrives in a fast-paced environment and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
- Has a sense of urgency, not afraid of change, is flexible and agile in navigating an ever-changing landscape while keeping an eye on the end goal
- Is decisive, firm, fair while holding high standards for themselves and the group at large
- This position is based in our New York HQ with an in-office presence of at least 3 days per week.
- Total compensation: $200,00 - $245,000 including base and performance bonus (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)

Salary : $20,000 - $245,000
