Duties
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Assist with medical procedures including IV insertion, suturing, and ventilating patients as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using ICD-10 coding.
- Educate patients and their families on health management and disease prevention.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to facilitate necessary tests and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and infection control practices.
- Experience working in a hospital or teaching hospital setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing IV insertion and other clinical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach patients effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
