What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pro Sales Specialist, Construction position at Busy Beaver Building Centers?
The Pro Sales Specialist will play the leadership role in the performance of the Lumber and Building Materials Departments in Busy Beaver Building Centers. This area is commonly known as the Sales Desk in the store. In this role, the Pro Sale Specialist will:
60% – Drive incremental sales growth through the Sales Desk by cultivating and servicing new and existing commercial/contractor business relationships A separate incentive program has been developed to reward performance in this area.
30% – Service new and existing Do-It-Yourself customers who shop at the Sales Desk on a project- oriented basis.
10% – Assist and train junior members of the Sales Desk Team to enhance the overall performance of the Departments.
Principal accountabilities
Sales Performance:
- Assists Management to implement, drive and monitor customer engagement strategies to achieve sales and margin objectives for assigned departments
- Implements best practices for selling
- Establishes relationships with Contractor/Commercial sales customers
- Establishes relationships with local businesses
- Grows Commercial Accounts
- Drives Department metrics to achieve set goals
- Ensures Ad merchandise is presented prominently and related add on items are cross merchandised
- Leads by example for customer engagement techniques and maintains a high-level presence at the sales desk
- Manages the Installed Sales program at store level
- Identifies and recommends the needs for the assigned departments to the General Manager
- Monitors competitive activity and communicates to the office
- Knowledge of POS Functions
- Manages quotes and estimates
- Maintains Safety Awareness
Requirements:
- Experience with Commercial Sales / Contractor Sales
- Knowledgeable in Lumber, Building Materials, Hardware
- Positive Culture/Attitude
- Good Communication Skills
High School Diploma is required, a college degree is preferred though not necessary.

Compensation/Benefits:
Base: $20-$25/hour
Monthly Sales Achievement Bonus: Up to $1000
New Account Bonus: Uncapped set % of Sales
