School Age Program Director:
The responsibilities of a School Age Program Director oversees the management, coordination, and implementation of afterschool, holiday, and summer programs, ensuring a safe, enriching, and quality experience for all participants, while upholding program policies and standards.
1. The Program Director plans, organizes, and implements the daily After School Program. Provides supervision, positive guidance, and classroom management.
2. Responsible for supervision, management, planning, implementation, and coordination of After-school program, Holiday, and Summer Programs.
3. Responsible for employee training, evaluating and counseling.
4. Works closely with Director and assistant director to develop and grow programs as needed.
5. You are responsible for closing the center, and managing ratios as children depart from the center each night.
6. Communications with parents; keep them informed of programs, schedules, and events.
7. Collaborates, plan, and coordinate with Director and Assistant Director.
8. Responsible for managing closing staff members.
9. Maintains and expand knowledge and skills related to team members.
10. Cultivates and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, and parents.
11. Creates and maintains a well-organized, clean, safe, and attractive learning environment. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of center.
12. Maintain attendance rosters for school age students.
13. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
14. Attend appropriate child care trainings.
15. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Constant walking, standing, and occasional sitting. Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects. Constant seeing to supervise children and read a variety of materials. Constant hearing and speaking to exchange information.
Qualifications
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High school Diploma
- CPR after first 90 days of hire
- Negative TB test
- Experience in childhood education
- Proficient in planning and implementing engaging classroom activities in the afternoon
- Experience working with children
- Ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
