We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Infant and Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will assist the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for infants and toddlers. You will support the developmental milestones of children by engaging them in age-appropriate activities, fostering social-emotional growth, and ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support:
- Assist in the daily management of the classroom, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Help set up and prepare materials for age-appropriate activities such as sensory play, music, art, and early literacy.
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being during classroom activities, outdoor play, and rest periods.
- Assist with individual or small group instruction based on developmental needs, fostering positive social interaction, communication, and learning.
- Child Care and Development:
- Support the physical and emotional needs of infants and toddlers, ensuring that they are comfortable, secure, and cared for.
- Monitor and support daily routines, including diapering, feeding, nap time, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Provide individualized attention to children to address specific needs and developmental milestones.
- Observation and Documentation:
- Observe and document children’s progress, behaviors, and interactions in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance, development, and any incidents or concerns.
- Share observations with the Lead Teacher to inform planning and individual learning goals.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and other team members to create a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training to enhance knowledge and teaching skills.
- Help implement classroom routines, rules, and policies consistent with the program’s mission and guidelines.
- Health, Safety, and Cleanliness:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including sanitization protocols, emergency procedures, and safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Monitor and ensure the safety of all children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization within the classroom, including cleaning toys, surfaces, and materials after each use.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; classes or experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood setting is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in providing direct care and support to young children.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of child development principles, particularly for infants and toddlers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to respond to the needs of young children in a calm and nurturing manner.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor to interact with young children.
- Ability to move quickly and respond to emergency situations.
Additional Requirements:
- Clear background check and completion of any required child protection or safety training.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and afternoons, depending on the needs of the program.
- Must have a love for children, a positive attitude, and a passion for early childhood education.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
