What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Butcher Bar?
Butcher Bar located in Rittenhouse Square is seeking a Floor Manager.
Our principles are simple: deliver thoughtfully executed amazing food, whiskey cocktails, beer and wine by an educated staff in a comfortable environment.
We are looking for someone who is ready to lead, educate, and inform our small and eager team, and liaison heavily with our BOH to accomplish service goals and maintain our standards. The candidate must have substantial food and liquor service experience.
The ideal candidate should be available to work at least four floor shifts a week and have weekday and weekend availability, serve as manager alongside the General Manager and in the General Manager's stead, establish service standards, cultivate whiskey and beer knowledge, as well as other necessary duties. The Floor Manager reports to the General Manager, and will frequently work alongside the Executive Chef and the Director of Sales.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible for managing the daily operations of restaurant
- Ensure that guests are satisfied with their dining experience and a consistent high level of service is provided
- Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper staff uniforms, and appearance standards
- Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
- Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, upholding service standards, cash handling, product quality and daily tasks
- Provide direction to employees by providing ongoing feedback and maintaining performance expectations
- Work well with other FOH Managers as well as BOH Managers and all staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 year managment experience required
- A combination of practical experience and education a plus
- Prior experience with SkyTab POS a Plus

- Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing
- Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance
- A strong attention to detail and ambiance
- Positive attitude to help maintain an enjoyable work environment
