What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Management Intern position at Butier Engineering?
Butier Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and diverse Construction Management Intern for our Summer 2025 internship program. This is a paid part-time / full-time position. The anticipated duration will be from May through August 2025 (flexible).
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Project Manager and CM / Field Inspector and partner with specialty inspectors and sub-consultants. As required, this position may be assigned to a field office to encounter industry methods and equipment and to contribute to project construction support or field-related engineering functions.
Our Construction Management Interns :
- Learn to develop and manage project scope, budgets, and schedules.
- Gain exposure to compliance matters at the federal, state, and local levels by studying existing codes and ordinances as related to the application of construction management and engineering principles.
- Work with construction and engineering personnel to work as a team and further projects.
- Interface with the client's representatives and contracted consultants.
- Review the work of other personnel to assure accuracy and conformance to requirements.
- Perform individual, routine tasks on a project to learn good construction management practices and procedures.
- Perform tasks involving routine construction management calculations and the preparation of basic project activities.
- Organize and track various project activities, i.e., material requisitions, vendor submittals, etc.
- Prepare written material for routine reports.
- Gather, organize, and maintain data sets for specific segments of a project.
- Learn discipline-specific software packages.
- Perform assigned tasks with constant, vigilant, attention to safe work practices.
- Review vendor bids to determine compliance with specifications.
- Gain experience with materials and equipment associated with water / wastewater treatment, storage, and conveyance projects.
