Job Description
As a Senior Project Engineer at Butler Aerospace & Defense, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our Integrated Product Development Team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the development and delivery of environmental and life support systems as well as active thermal control systems for both low Earth orbit (LEO) and Department of Defense & Science value streams.
You will take direction from Senior Integrated Development Team Leaders and Program Chief Engineers, executing engineering responsibilities on the program while meeting internal and external customer expectations. This includes leading efforts of a cross-functional engineering team and acting as the key interface between program management and engineering.
Your duties will include performing control account manager duties (cost, scope, and schedule), understanding Earned Value analysis of cost and schedule metrics, providing critical evaluation of technical and programmatic tasks, managing scope and tasks across the engineering team, and effectively operating within a matrix environment to manage and identify resource needs.
You will serve as the technical point of contact for all aspects of the business, including supply chain, operations, manufacturing, etc., supporting preventive and corrective action planning and implementation, and driving failure investigation activities.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, strong technical knowledge, and experience working in a matrix environment.
