The Program Manager of Reach & Rise® Youth Mentoring at the Butler County Family YMCA builds the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s cause and impact through the development and implementation of an effective mentoring program that strives to make a difference in a child’s life. The Reach & Rise® program is designed to provide guidance and group-based mentoring services to create safe, healthy, and meaningful relationships with youth and help them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. Reach & Rise® supports youth ages 6 to 17 that need the benefit of a positive adult role model.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, therapy or counseling, early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field; required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth who have a mental health diagnosis; required.
- Organization management and program development skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and produce results with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgrounds.

Essential Functions:
- Recruit, train, manage, and coordinate volunteers in assigned areas. Organize people and activities for efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure high-quality programs and establish new program activities. Expand the program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Possess excellent organization skills and demonstrated follow-through on tasks; Provide accurate, timely completion and submission of all mentor/mentee-related records and documents.
- Demonstrate knowledge of productivity standards and consistently maintain them.
- Develop and conduct assessments to measure the quality and efficacy of the program. Compile and present this data in a timely manner to plan for the following cycles.
- Organize and attend regular meetings with volunteers, families, and with staff from schools and/or community-based organizations, as needed.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, and oversight of weekly Reach & Rise® groups throughout each cycle. Expected to lead group if a mentor becomes unable.
- Provide support to families and youth who have a mental health diagnosis.
- Provide weekly support and feedback to mentors on managing group dynamics. This may include observing or assisting in groups on occasion.
- Have familiarity with the target population and provide input as to how the mentoring program can better reflect the cultural diversity of the children and families in our region.
- Continue professional development through community involvement, educational coursework, seminars, and conferences as approved.
- Meet regularly with Program Director to ensure program consistency and validity.
- Actively participates in YMCA events and activities and adheres to the YMCA Core Values.
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
- Engages in fundraising efforts for the Annual Support Campaign.
- Comply with the legal standards for mandated reporting.
- Work with all YMCA partners to ensure positive and consistent relationships.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
