What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue cycle specialist position at Butler Health System?
The Revenue Cycle Specialist assists with researching coding and billing guidelines and updating the hospital Charge Description Master (CDM) to ensure accurate charge capture and compliance with third party payer requirements.
Researches coverage and reimbursement issues as directed in CDM activity, or as assigned via other projects. Responsible for performing other duties such as generates special reports for management, creates spreadsheets / graphs, distributes and opens mail, takes meeting minutes, enters time and attendance records, orders supplies, and participates in other projects as directed by management.
Education
Minimum : High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred : Associate degree in a health care related field

Experience
Minimum : One year revenue cycle and / or financial analysis experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred : Prior coding experience within an acute hospital environment. Experience with billing edits, hospital charging, charge master principles and the relationship to coding, billing, and compliance in a hospital setting.
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and UB04 codes along with their assignment and compatibility.
