What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Instructor position at Butler Tech?
Overview
This instructor will teach Project Lead the Way courses to high school students. Courses taught during the 2025-2026 school year will include Principles of Biomedical Science and Human Body Systems. It is anticipated that Medical Interventions and Biomedical Innovations will be added as course options for students in 2026-2027. These courses combine rigorous academics with the knowledge and skills to prepare students for diverse long-term careers in health care, research, specialized laboratory work, education, and management in the biomedical field.
This position is offered through Butler Tech and located at Ross High School.
Requirements
- Appropriate licensure through the Ohio State Board of Education or ability to obtain proper licensure OR bachelor’s or master’s degree in the content area two years of relevant work experience OR bachelor’s or master’s degree outside the content area and five years of relevant work experience;
- Must successfully complete the Project Lead the Way teacher pre-assessment;
- Must successfully complete Project Lead the Way Summer Training Institute in Summer 2025 if credential not already held (Supervisor will provide information on registration and appropriate coursework.);
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
- State-issued identification card with photograph;
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
- Acceptable criminal record
