| GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Career Awareness Specialists are responsible for fostering career awareness in 6th, 7th and 8th grade student classrooms in Butler Tech partner school districts. Each Career Awareness Specialist will facilitate hands-on activities, do public speaking, engage in classroom management practices, and provide strong communication to both students and staff.
In cooperation with the Career Awareness Coordinator, the team will work with the curriculum department to assist in the design of engaging career awareness activities to help students discover their interest and gain an understanding of essential skills as related to future careers.

| SALARY & WORK YEAR 190 contract days with Salary placement based on education and experience ($34,202 - $44,625)

| QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in education, counseling, or a related field;
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area preferred;
- Current or willing and able to obtain an Ohio Department of Education & Workforce Educational Aide permit;
- Willingness and ability to collaborate and work effectively with curriculum specialists, teachers, administrators, and industry professionals as a contributing team member;
- Knowledge of current job market trends, emerging industries, and educational pathways;
- Desire to work with middle school-aged students;
- Ability to guide students through planned curriculum and activities in a classroom setting;
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
- Valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance;
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
