What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Butter Café?

Our Servers are responsible for taking ownership of the details to deliver a clean, happy, and healthy experience for our team members and guests. The look good / feel good impression we want to leave on our guests is made possible by paying close attention to the details that bring our vision to life.
As a Server, you will:
- greet every guest with a welcoming, kind approach
- assist with seating the dining room when appropriate or work with hostess to ensure proper pacing and service in the dining room
- greet tables and follow the table touchpoint guide to greet, learn dietary considerations, make recommendations, accurately record a guest’s order, prioritize and pace service based on the kitchen’s timing, prepare and serve beverages, pre-bus tables and ensure accurate delivery of food to guests while provide a thorough, complete and hospitable experience
- set-up, organize and clean the server’s kitchen and front of house facilities to ensure proper operations
- complete opening, shift change and closing procedures thoroughly with attention to detail
- pre-prep condiments and menu items served out of the server’s kitchen according to recipe and standard operating procedures, set-up and maintain beverage and quick service stations
- label and store all food, food prep, dry goods and paper goods appropriately throughout server’s kitchen and quick service stations
- prioritize, prepare and assemble all menu items according to standard operating procedures
- account for daily inventory of prepped ingredients, pre-prepped menu items, dry goods, paper goods, cleaning supplies and back storage to assist with proper organization for FIFO and back-ordering
- participate and track on-going training in your role to develop skill, consistency and performance
- learn and adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook, training materials, standard operating procedures, and recipes guidelines
- contribute to an environment where open communication flourishes, feedback is valued, contributions matter, and guests/team members are respected
- keep the restaurant clean, organized and guest ready at all times
- assist in marketing and promotional events when applicable
- support and organize the assembly of catering orders as needed
- execute daily operations with our third-party delivery partners
- provide exceptional customer service to our BOH/FOH team members, and our guests
- comply with health code standards and cleanliness in accordance with Montgomery County’s Department of Health; ensure proper functionality and maintenance of all equipment
- arrive on time to work with a positive attitude
- obtain and maintain safe food handler certification
- other duties as assigned
