Buxmont Academy, a Pennsylvania-licensed private academic institution, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Substitute Teacher for our Tatamy Creek campus in Easton, PA. At Buxmont Academy, we operate 6 campuses across southeastern Pennsylvania, utilizing restorative practices to support students in both their academic and emotional growth. Our commitment to individualized education ensures small class sizes and a high teacher-to-student ratio, fostering an environment where every student is given the attention and care they need to succeed.
Position Details:
- Salary: $25/hour
- Hours: Monday through Friday, up to 29 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:30AM - 3:30PM Location: Tatamy Creek Campus, Easton, PA
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support secondary school-aged students with varying developmental needs, adapting lessons to meet their individual needs.
- Work collaboratively within an educational team to support student success, offering guidance and feedback to help students achieve their potential.
- Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment, where students are encouraged to develop strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication with students, staff, and parents, particularly in high-stress situations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Certification: Teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of computer applications for educational purposes.
