I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Responsible for producing various small parts and circuit cards, assembling and wiring basic components and subassemblies, and soldering in compliance with J-STD-001 standards.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(The following duties are essential and occupy a significant portion of time and importance in the role. The incumbent(s) may perform one or more of these responsibilities.)
- Modify, fabricate, and build equipment and subassemblies based on layout diagrams, schematics, wire prints, and verbal instructions. Use hand and power tools to align and join parts into housings.
- Install components and parts onto chassis, circuit boards, panels, and other units using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment. Route and attach wires and connectors to establish circuitry and connect assemblies to power supply sources.
- Perform intermediate assembly tasks, including potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, epoxy bonding, wiring, stamping, etching, and color coding parts and assemblies.
- Wire various wire cable assemblies to both internal and external chassis. Assemble and attach functional and cosmetic hardware such as caps, clamps, and knobs using hand and power tools.
- Install finished assemblies and subassemblies into cases or cabinets, performing touch-up painting on cabinets before shipping.
- Mount equipment in cabinets or on shelves in vans, ships, and test beds following detailed work instructions.
- Use visual aids, drawings, verbal, and written instructions to set up automatic and manual production machinery and equipment for manufacturing small coils and other parts to specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. Work is primarily conducted in a controlled environment, though occasional work outside or in shelters may be required. Extended hours or weekend shifts may be necessary. The role involves working with hazardous cutting tools and chemicals.
Skills Required:
- Ability to sit, stand, and operate hand crimping tools.
- General computer skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds.
Skills Preferred:
- IPC-J-STD-001 soldering experience (training available).
Experience Required:
- Basic electronics experience.
- Relevant work experience may include roles such as electronics assembly technician, computer repair technician assistant, customer service representative in an electronics store, technical support specialist for electronics, or basic repair work on personal electronics such as computers or smartphones.
Education Required:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Two years of related assembly/electronics manufacturing experience.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
