Job Location : Pittsburgh, PA - Onsite
Job Tenure : 6 Months
Qualification:
Scrum master Certification / SAFe Certification
8 years of experience in a dedicated scrum master role for a software development team that was applying Scrum / SAFe principles, practices, and theory
Knowledge and experience of Agile techniques: user stories, TDD, continuous integration, continuous testing, pairing, agile games
Banking and Financials experience specifically on the C&IB space and technical skills are strongly preferred
Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and business languages
Excellent coaching skills
Responsibilities:
Act as Scrum Master for two or more scrum teams, coaching the teams to achieve higher levels of agile maturity at a sustainable pace.
Participate in Scrum of Scrums and facilitate Program Increment (PI) execution
Guide teams to be self-organized and motivate teams to focus on team goals/objectives
Remove impediments and act as a change agent to implement Agile principles and best practices across the team and the organization
Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospective, daily stand-up, and sprint review/demo
Facilitate getting the work done effectively and consensus-based methods in a matrixed environment. Ability to influence without direct authority.
Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution
Communication
Foster internal team communication by building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged and with an emphasis on problem-solving.
Assist with communication with the broader IT teams and business stakeholders to improve transparency and visibility into the team's progress and impediments.
Assist with documenting and tracking dependencies on other teams and with following up on the status of open items regularly.
Scheduling meetings and coordinating agendas in advance of the meetings
Support and educate the product owners in their role of creating, grooming, and maintaining the backlog and supporting the scrum team.
Support and ensure that the Agile principles are followed. Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing (e.g. burndown charts, defect trends, user story/feature completion rates, capacity, velocity, etc.)
