Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Topman to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our underground utility projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the layout of underground utility installations.
- Use and maintain surveying equipment to shoot grades, ensuring work aligns with project specifications.
- Lead and direct crew members, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Interpret blueprints, maps, and other technical documents to guide project execution.
- Monitor work progress to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Report to project managers with updates, potential issues, and solutions.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the underground utility or construction sector.
- Proven ability to shoot grades using a variety of surveying tools including levels, lasers, and GPS equipment.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, particularly in utilities like sewer systems, water lines, and electrical conduits.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate a team.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various outdoor conditions including extreme weather.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks that require physical labor.
