In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Architecture/Engineering Process Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.
What You’ll Do
You'll work individually and in teams to support complex industrial design and EPC projects for our Food, Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, and Life Science sector manufacturing clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.

- 3D Modeling Excellence: Craft detailed structural 3D models using Revit (LOD-300) for both new and existing facilities.
- Construction Document Creation: Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce precise construction documents.
- Revit Standards Development: Lead the evolution of our structural team's Revit drafting standards, best practices, and template updates.
- Field Survey Integration: Collaborate with licensed engineers on field surveys to enhance existing BIM models, leveraging field data and point cloud technology.
- BIM Management Collaboration: Stay connected with BIM managers to stay updated on all BIM-related developments.
- Inter-Office Guidance: Provide direction to staff across multiple Barry-Wehmiller Design Group offices.
- Revit Family and Detail Library: Streamline structural drawing production by developing Revit families and organizing a comprehensive typical detail library.
- Clash Detection and Navisworks: Prepare Navisworks models to facilitate effective clash detection.
- BIM Coordination Meetings: Actively participate in project-specific BIM coordination meetings to assist with interdisciplinary clash detection.
- BIM Quality Assurance: Perform BIM quality checks and complete QMS checklists for project-specific work.
- Innovative Problem Solving: Bring creative solutions to complex structural challenges.
- Constructability and Economy: Focus on identifying and mitigating constructability issues, aiming for economical structural design.
- 3D BIM Presentation Leadership: Lead in showcasing 3D BIM content during client and project team meetings.
- Best-in-Class Design Guidance: Advise the team on top-tier design practices and CAD technologies.
- Impactful Client and Team Relations: Make a daily impact with your skills, strengthening our client relationships and team collaboration.
- Decade of Excellence: Bring at least 10 years of experience in structural design, specifically in industrial settings.
- 3D BIM & AutoCAD Mastery: Demonstrate your proficiency in cutting-edge 3D BIM software like Revit and Navisworks, as well as AutoCAD.
- Industry-Specific Design Knowledge: Have a background in structural design for food/beverage, pharma/life science, or consumer products industries (preferred).
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud: Experience with ACC is a plus, enhancing our design process with the latest technology.
- Specialization in Steel Industrial Facilities: Showcase your expertise in the structural design of steel industrial facilities.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Exhibit outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Willingness to Travel: Be ready to travel for various project needs, including site inspections, installations, and professional gatherings.
- Educational Foundation: Ideally, hold an associate degree, technology degree, or a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
