Responsibilities
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as Mills, Lathes, saws or grinders.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Calculate basic dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years mechanical assembly or related experience. Background as a machinist a huge plus.
- 1 year experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a manufacturing or factory environment.
- Ability to read and understand prints.
- Ability to optimize work processes and reflect on completed tasks, identifying what worked well, what did not, and what could be done differently next time.
- Ability to communicate effectively, work safely, maintain positive behaviors and communicate with others in a professional manner.
- Customer Focus.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift, push/pull, walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, stoop, climb heights, and in and out of machines.
- Close visual work.
- Ability to periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long durations.
