Nestled on a sprawling 325-acre wooded campus, our facilities boast the renowned Hard Truth distillery and rackhouse, an expansive restaurant, a state-of-the-art tours and tastings center, and a sprawling terraced outdoor recreational area.
The Restaurant at Hard Truth is looking to hire a Host. This is an hourly position with TIP sharing!
Position Summary
The Host/Hostess at Hard Truth Restaurant serves as the first point of contact for guests, creating a warm, welcoming, and entertaining environment. This role is ideal for an outgoing and personable individual who thrives on making every guest feel valued and excited to dine at Hard Truth.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Engagement:
Greet guests with a warm smile and upbeat energy as they enter the restaurant.- Provide a welcoming and personalized experience, setting a positive tone for the meal.
- Engage guests with entertaining conversation or lighthearted interactions while managing wait times or seating arrangements.
Seating and Reservations:
Manage reservations and walk-ins using the restaurant’s table management system.- Coordinate seating to ensure an efficient flow and balanced service across the dining area.
- Communicate wait times clearly and update guests regularly during busy periods.
Ambassador of Hospitality:
Uphold Hard Truth’s reputation for exceptional hospitality by ensuring guests feel special and appreciated.- Share knowledge about Hard Truth Distillery and the restaurant, including featured cocktails, menu items, and special events.
- Provide recommendations to enhance the guest experience, such as whiskey flights or signature cocktails.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with servers and the FOH team to support seamless service and communication.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining areas.
Problem Solving:
Handle guest concerns or special requests with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring their needs are met.- Anticipate potential guest needs and provide proactive solutions.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer-facing or hospitality role is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Comfortable with reservation and table management systems (training provided).
- Outgoing, personable, and naturally entertaining.
