Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for the oversight of the quality management system, quality control, and safety procedures in place at this facility.
As the designated Management Representative, the Quality Management Rep is responsible for the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System to ensure adherence to the IATF 16949 International Quality Standard. The Management Representative is responsible for preparation and presentation of the Management Review for Facility and Corporate Management. As such, this position is considered to have unrestricted access to top management at both this facility and within the corporate staff, if necessary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Develop a positive relationship with all Plant customers and investigate and respond to all customer questions and issues regarding quality.
- Leads 3rd party and Customer Audits.
- Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
- Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
- Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
- Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Provides inspection activity for products throughout the production cycle.
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
- Designs and implements quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
- Performs and completes metallurgical studies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises the employees in the Quality Department.
- Help carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Supports the tasks include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. S.) in material science or engineering or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of 5 years of experience in heat treatment operations; or 5 years of Quality Management/Quality Engineering experience in an IATF 16949 environment.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical, inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Visual Shop (Heat Treat ERP system); Excel; Word; Criterion SPC software; and Outlook software.
