Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Scheduler to join our team. This critical role requires strong organization, and communication skills to assist with our warehouse operations effectively during 1st shift. The ideal candidate will need the top five problem solving, attention to details, organization, data entry and adaptability.
Role Description: The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling loads for pickup and maintaining the Cross Dock spreadsheet, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of operations within the organization. This role is essential in coordinating the logistics of freight shipping and making sure that all resources, including personnel and equipment, are allocated effectively to meet operational needs. The Scheduler works closely with department heads and other stakeholders to ensure that schedules are accurate, up-to-date, and communicated effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule loads for pickup, ensuring that all timelines are met and operational goals are achieved.
- Maintain the Cross Dock spreadsheet, keeping it updated with accurate information regarding load schedules, arrivals, and departures.
- Coordinate with department heads to gather necessary information for scheduling.
- Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in load availability, resource allocation, and other factors.
- Communicate schedule changes and updates to all relevant parties promptly.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts and work to resolve them proactively.
- Maintain accurate records of scheduling data and report on scheduling performance metrics.
- Assist in the planning and allocation of resources to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement scheduling best practices.
- Utilize scheduling software and tools to streamline the scheduling process.
- Provide support for ad-hoc scheduling requests and special projects as required.
- Perform other administrative duties as required by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in scheduling, logistics, or a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in scheduling and logistics software and tools, including Microsoft Excel.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address potential scheduling conflicts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with freight shipping operations and regulations is a plus.
- Training and Implementation:
- Continuous training to ensure no process is broken.
- Add changes to process if issues occur.
- Follow up on shipping deadlines daily (Hot Loads mean Hot Loads and must have fast shipping turn arounds).
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am -4:00pm
