Position Overview
This position is located on site at Fort Meade, MD
The Cyber Technical Instructor is a key role responsible for training diverse DoD audiences, including range engineers, on operating the Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE)-the world's largest cyber range. This role involves delivering technical training virtually, in-residence, or in hybrid formats, and contributing to the development of effective training programs.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical training on essential topics, including virtualization, network creation, databases, identity services, and related technologies.
- Instruct students on foundational and advanced computer networking concepts such as routing, switching, subnets, and network security methodologies.
- Collaborate with content developers to create course-related objects like networks and frameworks for the PCTE platform.
- Facilitate engaging instruction in virtual, in-person, or hybrid formats.
- Apply effective classroom management techniques to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
- Organize rosters, track student progress, and prepare detailed progress reports.
- Evaluate student assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist in maintaining and updating training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Analyze training programs and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness.

Salary Range
Salary Minimum : $110,000
Salary Maximum : $130,000
The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, By Light also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions. In addition, By Light provides an extensive selection of benefits and offerings to our employees.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
