We are seeking an RN to be a Nursing Skills Trainer. This nurse is responsible for expertly teaching hands-on clinical nursing skills and techniques to nursing staff, in adherence to policies, and protocols related to nursing practice. The Nursing Skills Trainer participates in providing Home Health Aide (HHA) training. This is a Hybrid position. Must also be able to train at our multiple locations in Sonoma, San Mateo and Pleasanton.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Under the direction of the Nursing Services Specialist, provide nursing skills training to RNs and LVNs across all service lines as part of new-hire orientation and orientation to role, and as part of ongoing training.
- Participate in the evaluation of clinical skills competencies of nurses at hire and annually as needed.
- Provide individualized training on nursing skills when appropriate.
- Staff regular Skills Lab times at all sites for scheduled and drop-in hands-on training, ensuring that access to skills training is available to nurses working after-hours and on weekends. Maintain equipment and supply stock of Skills Labs.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five years Registered Nursing experience, preferably in a health care setting providing clinical services in the areas of life‑threatening and chronic illness.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Registered Nurse in California with current licensure to practice professional nursing within the state.
- Public health nurse certification in California highly desirable.
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN) highly desirable.
- Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements.
Pay Range:
$50.00 - $62.00 hourly
