SUMMARY:

To organize the daily, weekly, monthly production planning processes, including raw material planning, utilizing an integrated forecasting, planning, and distribution system to determine production build requirements. Work closely with Supply Chain and Production Team to ensure compliance with target parameters – minimal stock, short throughput times, high-capacity utilization and high adherence to on-time and in-full (OTIF). Develop process optimization projects and the implementation of cost reducing methods considering the supply chain targets. Specifically, to ensure that material is available for distribution to customers and external warehouses, minimize inventory as well as ensure the highest possible availability of finished goods.


KNOWLEDGE:

  • Several years of experience with application / implementation of SAP – modules MM, PP, SD, APO/SNP
  • Production planning, project management and distribution requirements planning (logistics)
  • General chemical industry experience; (e.g. production, marketing characteristics, products, customers) are valuable for this position.
  • Inventory control methods

  • Experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Planning

  • Lead time and capacity scheduling; sequence planning and finite scheduling; batch size & mix planning, including make-to-stock and/or make-to-order inventory strategies.
  • Visualization of critical logistic processes in production, to assure an effective and efficient flow of goods in compliance with all regulations.
  • Raw material planning and availability to produce products.
  • Optimization of the production planning according to the following aspects:

- Customer requirements

- Production planning/scheduling, including value added services.

- Warehouse capacity planning

- Distribution requirements planning to downstream warehouse.

Inventory Management

  • Optimizing inventory levels, as low as possible while guaranteeing high level of availability.
  • Determine safety stock levels.
  • Ordering and scheduling of goods from Global affiliates.
  • Distributing goods to regional warehouses throughout USA.
  • Working with Sales and Marketing area to confirm forecasts, identify trends, etc.
  • Must successfully complete D.O.T. Awareness Training


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in production and material flow in a manufacturing environment
