What are the responsibilities and job description for the Indoor Cycling Instructor position at BYKlyn Indoor Cycling Studio?
Are you a great cycling instructor? Do you have a REAL passion for knowing and connecting with your riders? Are you the type to build a crew? Do you love music and love that rush that comes from teaching classes? If yes! READ ON.
We are BYKlyn Studios. We are independently owned - a local business doing what’s best for Brooklynites since 2014. Located near Barclay's Center, our flagship location has a full Strength and Stretch studio and NYC's only open-air BYK Deck for cycling classes--a century old warehouse that’s missing a few walls. During class, enjoy the view, sunlight and fresh air. In winter, we close the glass doors and turn on the heat.
What’s our secret sauce? Community, great workouts, inclusion and fun!
How are we different? Our style is real ride — classes mimic an outdoor cycling workout with speed work, resistance challenges, intervals, partner drills and more. We deliver an excellent workout lead by top-tier coaches - all welcoming, positive and motivating with great playlists! We have top-of-the line Stages bikes with monitors to provide matrix and information. All our classes use the Sound Off headset music system (silent disco). Our vibe is welcoming and inclusive and we specialize in first time riders. What you won’t get here -- judgment, pressure to wear fancy clothes, music that’s too loud, complicated dance choreography or instructors who scream at you.
Qualifications:
- You must be a people person: You must connect easily with all kinds of people. You must be outgoing. You must be easy to talk to, and comfortable talking to people you don’t know. The success of this business is dependent on the relationship you build with riders.
- Experience: You must have at least 2 years of experience teaching classes and have a real track record of success.
- Creativity: You must be creative to keep it fun, unique and effective. Your music is vital! Variety keeps it fun and engaging.
