Job Summary:
The Chief Lending Officer is a highly motivated, high-energy professional who is responsible for management, long-term strategic development and optimization of all loan functions. As our Chief Lending Officer, you will assume a key leadership role, managing and developing a team of commercial lenders and processors, also being responsible for new commercial loan and business deposit relationships for the local area. This role will develop lending strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the Bank’s overall goals and strategic objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Develop, motivate, and train staff, including planning and delegating work assignments and projects.
- Evaluate performance, administer quarterly touch points and deliver performance evaluations.
- Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable to performance and behaviors aligned with our culture.
Department Management Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the lending strategic objectives are met.
- Responsible for the overall management of the bank loan portfolio, processing and lending strategies.
- Develop lending policies and procedures and ensure they complement organizational goals.
- Develop and implement loan systems, risk controls, and policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements, institution policies and targets.
- Cooperate with Federal and State examiners in their reviews and examinations.
Lending:
- Function as a loan officer:
- Assist with maintaining a loan portfolio of at least $40MM.
- Develop loan and deposit business with customers.
- Work to maintain current financial information and other required documentation on Bank customers.
- Maximize portfolio growth of the Bank through effective planning, development, and implementation of lending strategies.
- Review existing and new client relationships for credit quality, structure and pricing.
- Ensure overall soundness of loan portfolio, with the ability to identify and develop long term strategies that will include initiatives such as portfolio mix, growth strategies, and market penetration objectives.
- Ensure that all lending activities are conducted in accordance with established policy guidelines and standards and are properly documented.
- Stay informed regarding developments and changes in lending services.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as the administrator of loan programs.
- Act as a member of and lead the Loan Committee.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field, or equivalent experience, preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for up to 8 hours a day.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Travel:
- Some travel is involved, less than 25% of the time.
