Primary Purpose
The Sales Performance Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing sales data, optimizing processes, and providing strategic insights to enhance the performance of the outside sales team. This position will support decision-making by identifying trends, evaluating sales effectiveness, and recommending improvements to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations that provide actionable insights for sales leadership.
- Evaluate sales targets, quotas, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to improve forecasting, territory management, and sales strategies.
- Conduct market research to assess competitive positioning and customer needs.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance sales productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor and report on sales team adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assist in designing and implementing incentive programs to drive performance.
- Support training and coaching initiatives by identifying skill gaps and providing data-driven recommendations.
- Partner with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate sales tracking and reporting.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing sales forecasts and budgeting processes to align with company objectives.
- Track and analyze customer buying patterns to help optimize product offerings and sales strategies.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and insights to support leadership in decision-making.
- Develop and maintain documentation for sales processes, reporting structures, and best practices
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by auditing sales reports and CRM entries.
- Support leadership in identifying training needs and creating performance improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and promotional efforts.
- Monitor sales funnel metrics to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Evaluate sales team efficiency by analyzing time management and customer engagement metrics.
- Provide regular performance reviews and recommendations to sales leaders for ongoing strategy adjustments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in sales analytics, sales operations, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
