Primary Purpose

The Sales Performance Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing sales data, optimizing processes, and providing strategic insights to enhance the performance of the outside sales team. This position will support decision-making by identifying trends, evaluating sales effectiveness, and recommending improvements to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations that provide actionable insights for sales leadership.
  • Evaluate sales targets, quotas, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to improve forecasting, territory management, and sales strategies.
  • Conduct market research to assess competitive positioning and customer needs.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance sales productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on sales team adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist in designing and implementing incentive programs to drive performance.
  • Support training and coaching initiatives by identifying skill gaps and providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Partner with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate sales tracking and reporting.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing sales forecasts and budgeting processes to align with company objectives.
  • Track and analyze customer buying patterns to help optimize product offerings and sales strategies.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and insights to support leadership in decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for sales processes, reporting structures, and best practices
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by auditing sales reports and CRM entries.
  • Support leadership in identifying training needs and creating performance improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and promotional efforts.
  • Monitor sales funnel metrics to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
  • Evaluate sales team efficiency by analyzing time management and customer engagement metrics.
  • Provide regular performance reviews and recommendations to sales leaders for ongoing strategy adjustments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in sales analytics, sales operations, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
