Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and business-minded Procurement Specialist to manage our purchasing process and ensure optimal inventory levels. This role focuses on analyzing sales trends, monitoring stock levels, and collaborating with the sales team to forecast demand. The Procurement Specialist will compile and validate purchase forecasts, negotiate with vendors, and place timely orders based on supplier lead times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze historical sales data, current stock levels, and sales team insights to forecast product demand accurately.
- Work closely with the sales team to gather insights on potential future sales and unpredictable demand fluctuations.
- Compile and validate purchase forecasts to maintain ideal inventory levels while minimizing overstock and stockouts.
- Place purchase orders with vendors in a timely manner, considering supplier lead times and order requirements.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize costs.
- Monitor and track order progress, ensuring timely deliveries and addressing any supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, finance, and logistics, to ensure a seamless procurement and inventory process.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred.
- Business Acumen: Strong negotiation and analytical skills to optimize costs and supplier relationships.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret sales trends, inventory data, and supplier constraints to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) and other Office applications.
- Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work closely with sales teams and vendors to align purchasing with business needs.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple purchase orders and ensure inventory accuracy.
