What are the responsibilities and job description for the John Deere Small Engine Technician position at C & B Operations, LLC?
C & B Operations, LLC is a progressive, family-owned company that has grown over 35 years to include thirty-six John Deere dealerships in six states. We currently have an opening for a Small Engine Technician at its John Deere Dealership located in Slayton, Minnesota. A Small Engine Technician independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned small tractors and turf equipment.
Essential Duties:
- Performs basic diagnostics and repairs small tractors and turf equipment
- Participates in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
- Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties
- Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
- Loads and unloads equipment when requested
- Promotes and sells the service department to customers including service work, inspections, and parts to increase customer safety and satisfaction
- Delivers parts, run errands, etc. as needed
- Maintains a professional appearance
- Reports to work on time, as scheduled
- Follows all safety procedures and guidelines, and works in a safe manner
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Ability to meet physical demands and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform tasks in support of all job functions, for example - sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Previous experience repairing small tractors & turf equipment
- Previous John Deere Experience a plus
