Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and management, with the ability to negotiate contracts and build relationships with clients and subcontractors. This role is critical in ensuring accurate pricing and cost control for our projects, contributing to the overall success of our operations. Some existing contacts in the local area would be very helpful. We are expanding to this area and need some help in establishing contacts with General Contractors.
Duties
- Oversee the estimating process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for bids and proposals.
- Utilize software tools such as OST and Quickbid to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Conduct thorough reviews of contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Implement cost control measures to monitor project budgets and minimize financial risks.
- Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the estimating team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
- Proficient in using estimating software such as OST and Quickbid
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong analytical skills to assess project costs accurately and identify potential savings opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
