Medium size construction company in East Tennessee is currently seeking to hire a full-time Construction Project Manager. This position will plan and oversee the process of various construction projects from start to finish. Their duties include creating a building budget and staying within the budget, retrieving the necessary permits to construct in certain communities and communicating the customer’s goals for projects to the subcontractors and construction workers. This position requires a deep understanding of project management, construction processes, and the ability to lead a team.
Duties/Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Oversees and manages construction projects from conception to completion
- Works closely with architects and engineers
- Determines needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
- Plans all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
- Negotiates terms of agreements, drafts contracts, and obtains permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
- Analyzes, manages and mitigates risks.
- Hires subcontractors and allocates responsibilities
- Supervises the work of all trades
- Evaluates job progress and prepares detailed reports
Required Skills/Abilities to include but not limited to:
- 3-5 years construction experience is required.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Proficient in MS Office
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities
Education and Experience to include but not limited to:
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, however, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.
