Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high occupancy rates, ensuring tenant satisfaction, and managing all property operations while adhering to Fair Housing regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to conflict management and strong administrative and organizational skills to effectively handle leasing processes and property management tasks.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of property operations, including tenant relations, leasing, and maintenance coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other relevant laws.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to assess maintenance needs and overall condition.
  • Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Oversee the leasing process, including advertising vacancies, community outreach, conducting showings, and negotiating lease agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant information, lease agreements, and property maintenance activities through effective data entry practices.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff or contractors to ensure timely repairs and upkeep of properties.
  • Prepare reports on property performance metrics and occupancy rates for management review.

Skills

  • Strong conflict management skills to resolve tenant issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of property maintenance procedures and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in real estate administrative tasks, including data entry and record keeping.
  • Proficient in property leasing processes with negotiation skills to finalize lease agreements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple properties simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with tenants, vendors, and team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 2 years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing or Section 8 housing. Knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, or other affordable housing programs is a plus.
  • Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Fair Housing certification and property management licenses are preferred but not required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to walk the property and perform light physical tasks, including inspections and maintenance coordination.

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour


Expected hours: 40 per week
